Itinerary
Day 1 – Start of the Inca Trail
Inca Trail Adventure: Train to KM 104 and Hike to the Sun Gate at Machu Picchu
From Cusco, take a transfer to the train station. Board the train in Ollantaytambo and ride to the trailhead at KM 104 where your hiking journey begins. Pass archeological sites and admire stunning Andean landscapes all the way to the mystic Sun Gate into Machu Picchu.
Enjoy your first views of the Inca citadel before taking the short bus ride to Aguas Calientes for the night.
Day 2 – Machu Picchu Exploration
Sunrise at Machu Picchu: Guided Tour of the Lost City and Return to Cusco
Rise early, eat breakfast at your hotel, and walk to the nearby bus station for the 20-minute drive up to Machu Picchu.
Enjoy a two-hour tour of this majestic Inca citadel, take some time to take in the views and enjoy your accomplishment. Then head down to the train station in Aguas Calientes pueblo for the return to Cusco.
