Itinerary
DAY 1 | WEDNESDAY
Iquitos > Nauta > Pahuashiro
Your luxurious Amazonian adventure begins the moment you arrive! You’ll be picked up at the airport and enjoy a comfortable private transfer to Nauta port, complete with a box lunch en route. Upon boarding the Zafiro, our staff will escort you to your exquisite suite, boasting comfortable beds, 100% Peruvian Pima cotton sheets, cotton bathrobes, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with all amenities.
Before we set sail, our bartender will welcome you with a refreshing cocktail made from local fruit and pisco. Sip it while taking in 360° views from the observation deck or relaxing in our panoramic lounges. Once underway, our expert naturalist guides will provide a comprehensive overview of your itinerary, covering activities, routes, and fascinating insights into the Amazon’s wildlife, vegetation, history, and geography. They’re always on hand to answer any questions you may have.
After this briefing, you’ll enjoy delicious appetizers and have some time to relax before your first exciting night excursion by skiff to Yacapana. Here, you’ll search for nocturnal creatures like alligators, tarantulas, and frogs as the sun sets. Later, you’ll return to the Zafiro for leisure time before indulging in a special Peruvian dinner with an Amazonian influence, featuring a varied menu with vegetarian options. DAY 2 | THURSDAY
Ucayali River > Yanallpa of Ucayali > Tapiche River > Dorado River
Your day kicks off before breakfast with an exciting skiff expedition to the **Yanallpa area of the Ucayali River**, nestled within the **Pacaya Samiria National Reserve**. Here, you’ll have the chance to spot numerous **native animal species** in their natural habitat.
After breakfast, another skiff adventure awaits as you head to the **Tapiche River** for more incredible wildlife viewing. Before midday, you’ll return to the Zafiro for a delightful **cooking demonstration by the executive chef**, where you can learn about Amazonian flavors.
Following lunch, those interested can join an insightful talk about the **Pacaya Samiria National Reserve**. In the afternoon, you’ll take a skiff to the **Dorado River** for some **local fishing**. As evening approaches, get ready for a thrilling **nighttime outing** in search of caimans, tarantulas, and other fascinating creatures that emerge after sunset.
Finally, a delicious dinner will be served onboard the Zafiro, bringing your adventurous day to a perfect close.
DAY 3 | FRIDAY
Ucayali River > Yarapa de Ucayali (Black Waters) > Amazon River > Tahuayo River
After breakfast, you’ll head out to explore the Yarapa River, known for its unique black waters and the famous pink and gray river dolphins that call it home.
Once you’re back on the Zafiro, you’ll witness the incredible confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, the very birthplace of the mighty Amazon River.
After a delicious lunch and some time to relax, you’ll set off again on skiffs for a leisurely sail on the Amazon. This is your chance to observe the daily life and activities of local communities along the riverbanks. Be sure to take in a colorful Amazon sunset before returning to the boat.
Back aboard the Zafiro, you’ll have some free time to unwind and enjoy live music before the special crew presentation and your farewell dinner.
DAY 4 | SATURDAY
Disembark in Iquitos
After breakfast, we will proceed to disembark. On the way to the airport, we will visit the Manatee Rescue Center (Amazon Forever Organization) where biologists and volunteers care for manatees, an endangered species that authorities have rescued. There, we will learn how manatees are treated and prepared for their return to their natural habitat. Additionally, we will be able to see other animals that have also been rescued. Finally, we will invite you to make a donation to this dedicated organization and study center. Afterwards, you’ll be transferred to the airport.
